🎯 The Big Story

Caleb Williams and Jaxson Dart have yet to decide where they will play college football next season.

Perhaps that sentence will be outdated by the time you read this. But Williams, who intends to leave OU after one season, still hasn’t announced where he will continue his career. Dart, the Southern Cal transfer, has also yet to go public with what school he, and Southern Cal tight end Michael Trigg, will attend in 2022.

What’s taking so long?: The quarterbacks have to enroll in classes and prepare for spring practices at some point. So, a decision is essentially guaranteed to come this week. Right?

Until Williams says otherwise, it’s hard to envision the Sooners’ star freshman quarterback not following his first college head coach to Hollywood. As for Dart, he didn’t jump on either OU or Ole Miss after his recent visits to both schools. The Sooners and Rebels are still considered Dart’s leaders.

Quotable: Dusty Dvoracek, a two-time All-Big 12 nose guard with Oklahoma and current ESPN college football analyst, had this to say about Dart during News 9's "The Blitz" on Sunday. (đŸŽ„ Watch full video):

“I think it's a bit of a waiting game right now with Jaxson Dart, but talking with people very close to the situation, Oklahoma has stayed in constant contact as much as last night (Saturday). And they feel really good about their positioning.”

Worst case scenario, the Sooners enter 2022 with Dillon Gabriel as their starter and incoming true frosh Nick Evers as his backup. There are much worse situations to be in than Oklahoma.

Oklahoma gained momentum with a pair of Class of 2022 prospects this weekend.

  • Rivals.com's Josh McCuistion put in a forecast for Jamarrien Burt, a 3-star cornerback prospect out of Ocala, Florida. Burt originally committed to Florida over the summer before decommitting in November following the Gators’ coaching change. Burt visited OU this past weekend after seeing Utah the week before.

  • Gracen Halton, who committed to Oregon a year ago but didn't sign in December, also made it to Norman this past weekend. The four-star defensive end prospect, who is also considering Miami, still could ultimately sign with the Ducks, but 247Sports' Parker Thune put in a Crystal Ball prediction for Halton to Oklahoma on Sunday.
